Campaign Mission

The UA MIS Capital Campaign is a 5 year campaign aiming to:

1. Aggressively ensure sustainment of the unique educational model, based on one-on-one coaching and mentoring as well as significantly setting the MIS program apart from its counterparts

2. Expand the reach of the MIS program to help more students take advantage of enrichment opportunities regardless of financial need

3. Enhance the programs and commitments that contribute to the MIS experience inside and outside of the classroom

Funding Sources

Funding

A major misconception aboutUA is that the tuition paid by students contributes a large portion of funding; however, this money is split almost evenly with state funding, auxiliary services, and grants and gifts given to the University.

There is a major need to preserve the unique identity of the MIS program which requires significant resources to maintain, being the low faculty to student ratio or funding the unique curriculum the program employs. In order to receive additional funding from the University in support of the UA MIS program, the program would need to adopt a mass-lecture structure for all of its classes and lose this unique identity.

Milestones

The Capital Campaign is broken down to multiple phases to ensure that the campaign is moving smoothly and is constantly being evaluated on best practices and what needs improvements.

Phase 1 kicks off the campaign by utilizing a small scale representation of the campaign with companies that have a strong UA MIS alumni base. These Mini-Campaigns act as a benchmarking tool to see how our effective our current practices are in raising awareness and participation with the campaign as well as outlining what practices are not being done and what practices need to be refined.

Phase 2 starts at the end of Phase 1 and represents the full external-wide launch of the campaign. During this phase, the Capital Campaign team review the current status and progress of the campaign every 3 months to determine if the campaign is on the right track and what can be done to increase its effectiveness.

The UA MIS alumni have benefited from the mentorship and preparation provided by the current MIS program. Now we ask you to invest in the future and make it possible for future generations of UA MIS students and faculty to connect and thrive. Through this campaign we ask all of our alumni, parents, and friends to help the UA MIS program achieve its highest aspirations.
